Smartphone Integration Made Super Simple, Here at Koons Sterling Ford!

When it comes to your smartphone in your car, the concept of smartphone integration might not be new for some of the tech-savvy folks out there, but if you recently purchased or are looking to purchase an all-new Ford model, you might be wondering if the model you have your heart set on is compatible with your smartphone. Some people do use an auxiliary cord to play music, but for the driver of the Ford, this can often lead to distracted driving which is both dangerous and illegal. Fortunately, there's an alternative, thanks to Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™! With the SYNC®3 System through the Ford Motor Company, almost all of our cars, trucks and crossovers will allow you to fully integrate your smartphone into the trip computer's interface using hands-free voice commands!

How does SYNC®3 Work?

The difference between the SYNC®3 and SYNC® systems on Ford models is that the SYNC®3 system allows for more applications, including Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and has a more advanced touchscreen interface. With the advanced system, if your phone is compatible with SYNC®3, you'll be able to integrate your smartphone into the computer system to access all the apps you need, such as voice notes, navigation and, of course, music. Through the touchscreen, advanced voice commands and steering-wheel-mounted controls, you'll be able to scan through it all with hands-free convenience while keeping your eyes on the road ahead.

What Cars Have SYNC®3?

Pretty much all of the Ford cars, trucks, SUVs and crossovers in our inventory can be equipped with the SYNC®3 system, but most of the base trims come standard with the regular SYNC® system. If you're looking at a new Ford model, be sure to ask a salesperson here at Koons Sterling Ford! which trim levels come available with this system. If you already have one of these models, check out these videos which will guide you through the process of installing Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. If you have any troubleshooting questions, come on down ton our dealership here at 46869 Harry Byrd Highway in Sterling, VA or give us a call at (800) 796-2075!
