Tech options range greatly, with the base EcoBoost trim coming outfitted with in-vehicle Wi-Fi connectivity, a 4.2-inch infotainment display, and a 6-speaker audio system. The EcoBoost premium adds in a list of premium tech offerings, like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a 9-speaker audio system, and smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto). Things remain the same for all higher trim levels. The Mustang does allow for additional tech features as individual upgrades. Optional tech upgrades include a navigation system and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system.
Performance
The Ford Mustang makes four engines available across its six trim levels, with the base engine being a brawny 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. You can also opt for a High Performance version of the base 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine, which boosts the base horsepower to 332. Drivers can enjoy a choice between manual and automatic transmission. The Ford Mustang is solely available with rear-wheel drive. If you're interested in moving to a more powerful version of the Mustang, then you can look to the GT, Match 1, and GT500 for help. The GT trim gets a 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 450 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque while also offering an automatic and manual transmission. The Mach 1 trim lives up to its name by coming with an even more powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 470 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The most powerful engine that's available with the new Ford Mustang comes with the GT500 version. This top trim option is powered by a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that makes 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can enjoy a 7-speed automatic transmission with this engine. The Ford Mustang makes a host of performance features available across its trim lineup, too. There's a variety of different packages that can be added to various trims to increased performance capability. The EcoBoost trim makes a High Performance package available , which adds performance tires, upgraded brakes, engine cooling, a sport suspension, paddle shifters, an active exhaust system, and an improved gauge cluster. There's also an optional EcoBoost Handling package. This package adds wider tires, improved brakes, torsen limited-slip differential, an adaptive suspension, and a larger rear spoiler. Moving to the GT trim ensures 18-inch wheels, limited slip-differential with increased gearing options, and rev-matched downshifting (manual transmission). If you're interested in stepping things up with the GT trim, there's a GT Performance package that adds performance tires, Brembo brakes, a sport suspension, toresen limited-slip differential, and improved engine cooling functionality.
